I watched this
I was facinated by the cover and the fact that Dakota Fanning and Kristin Stewart were in it together. Oh, and we have a Bluray player now and this was one of the titles at our Video Store that I hadn't seen. Invictus was last week. And did you know that Take One Video in Slaton has a facebook page?
Thank you Brandye. :)
But also, I wanted to watch this movie because I fancied the two of them, Dakota and Kristin, becoming wonderful friends and talking about boys and brushing each other's hair.
Yeah.
Right.
That didn't happen in the movie.
They got WAY closer than that. And apparently, Joan Jett, Kristin Stewart's role, didn't really fantasize about the "guy standing by the record machine" because she was bi. And probably fantasized about a hot chick in sleazy underwear and bright blue eyeshadow dancing by the record machine. After all, she loves rock-n-roll and the girls that hang out with guy guitar players wear sleazy underwear. Right?
I know not what I speak of.
BUT, the movie did get watched and finished at my house and I enjoyed it, but gosh. Was it worth the watch time? Hmm...
I'd say no.
Acting was good. It was definitely interesting in the way that I had to google both people later to find out what they had done with their lives. Not that I didn't know Joan Jett was now an actress. But overall? I could have missed it and been just fine. But that would have required me removing myself from my couch and giant TV and doing something else.
And I did enjoy the role of the producer, what was his name? Oh, yeah. Kim Fowley
If you can handle the language, he was funny. I laughed out loud a couple of times and then felt horrible guilty when I realized he was screaming at 15 year olds. HOLY SMOKES! That's 2 years younger than Kalyn! You talk about growing up quick. Scary.
But no one can ever say Joan Jett can't rock.
