It's game night!

Look at these cuties! Don't let those pretty heads fool you folks. These are some super smart women. So smart I can barely hold a conversation with them in the same room and not feel like a kindergardner. Okay, that's a lie. But they are super smart. And they can operate a Canon with a BIG white lens pretty fierce. The one on the right is my Kalyn. She's posing with her good friend Grace. I'm trying to find Amanda in some of these photos. Where was Amanda? I have a bigger group shot of the entire student body. We'll play the "Where's Amanda" game and see who spots her first.

The Mighty Pirates played their first home game tonight against the Seminole Indians. I've been working at my video store all week, but the old man gave me the evening off to shoot some football. I'd like to say, I kicked some sports related butt with these images, but I was tired from work and the sidelines were full with the press guys and their REAL sports lenses. You know the ones. They are bright and shiny. And EXPENSIVE. Come on. $6000? I shoot brides. Unless she's wanting photos of her nose hairs coming down that aisle, there's really no reason. Right?

That's what I keep telling myself.

I was off.

I was tired.

But The Pirates are my favorite sporting team right now, and if I call myself a fan, I must push through and PHOTOGRAPH THE TEAM! So, I did.

I started with a great wide shot of our Pirate Fans filling the stadium. It's a cloudy night and not too hot and promises to be a GREAT weather night for some ball.

And it really was! Except, those dang Indians came out and scored on the opening kickoff and we never got ahead of them again. Oh, we sure tried. The defense tried. I thought they played very well. But that dang 33 for Seminole and his BIG MASSIVE QUICK RUNS, just ran all over that field and we lost the game 20-7.

I'll let the photos do the talking for now. Keep scrolling, because we took quite a few.

I'm not sure what this means or even what it was, but each coach had one in their pants. So I'm assuming it was needed. Anyone care to fill me in?

This guy below? He would squat the entire time waiting for the play to be called. WOW. Talk about great legs muscles. And don't even get me started on the backside if I would spend 1/2 my day doing something like this. I'm sure if I could do this for even 1/4 of my day, I'd be modeling Victoria Secret's underwear and showing off my backside all I could. You go, squatting pirate dude!

No baby was injured in the making of this photograph.

Not one.

Kalyn thought this was a funny composition.

I have to agree.

Pretty darn cool to have tickets printed up, no? I'm impressed!

I love this shot below! I will interrupt this blog posting to brag on our band.

Look how much concentration she has! Talk about intense! Next game, I'll have to photograph more of these players. I was totally impressed by their marching they did while playing on the field. It looks easy, but it's so not. Great job, guys.

Kalyn squeezed off one of me. I hesitated to put it on the blog. HELLO! No make-u. There was make-up earlier this morning. Say, around 10. But it's long gone after popping corn and making cherry limeades all day. GONE. But I'm having a semi-good hair day, so the photo can stay.

Okay, Mr. Taylor. I lo

Okay, start.

Let's play Where's Amanda. I found her. :)

Okay, let's pause this blog again to stare at the adorable boy below. HELLO! Is this not Justin Bieber's little bro? C U T E N E S S! To the 9th degree!!!

And I've been getting to know this stud pretty darn well. He worked the balls last year, too. Good kid.

And despite the loss, our boys showed good sportsmanship. I love this about our school! Keep the faith, Pirates! You have a lot more season ahead of you!!!
