LCHS vs Wall

Tired of basketball yet? I kinda was. Not the game, mind you. I could watch forever and a day! But shooting it? Now I can't NOT shoot it, if you know what I mean. But I reach for inspiration and gumption each and every game, so that I can get better at this. Much like the girls.

I did enjoy a great article I found online before the game. A quick read of THIS and I was READY and on fire! Add to that our new boy's Coach's enthusiasm, (more on that later) and I was PUMPED up about the game's last night! I think it showed in my photos as well.

Coach Parsley's JV girls played for the first time with their FULL ROSTER. Volley ball is over and Kaitlyn Stewart and Kendra Hill were playing their first game with the JV last night. WOO HOO! They looked pretty good, too. I'm excited to see how they do in the upcoming weeks. They killed Wall's JV last night, KILLED.

Now Varisty? Totally different ball game. I was told that Wall has several seniors and going into last night's game, were ranked #4 in the state. We knew it would be a tough game, but we actually couldn't hit a basket to save our life, thus beating ourselves and having to work twice as hard, just to stay in the game.

Of course, the Bednarz's were representing on the court in DEFENSE! Awesome job, girls! And several drives to the hole by Miss B gave our team some much needed points. Add to that the steals, the fast breaks they fed Taylor Parr and we had ourselves a ball game in the 3rd quarter! I think we were within 1 pt.

Which caused me to hyperventilate and start screaming court-side. Thank goodness for Boo! She was back from her softball tournament in Plano and handy for photography while Momma had her breakdown.

We couldn't keep up the pace and again, baskets didn't make, and thus the Wall Lady Hawks beat us, bringing our record 4-2.

Darn.

But, I will say we are looking better and better as a team. The girls are enjoying each other and the game and gaining confidence each and every play.

And me? I'm going to paint a 3 pt. line outside on my driveway before district and make each girl shoot 3's every morning before I'll let them leave in that cute little bug we own.
