the one where I discuss getting close

I’m always looking for ways to get close at a wedding. Many times I’m so close I get hit or bumped with my camera to my face, and it definitely leaves a mark. This is one of the reasons I don’t wear makeup on wedding day. The back of my camera gets covered with it!

This couple was outside making a few portraits with family and friends on this blank wall, in a tiny spot of shade. Boy! Was I looking for that shade. Everyone was enjoying the day and I just moved in as close as I could. I think all their cousins were surrounding them? See the blue arm on the left, caught in mid clap? I was composing with layers to include as much information in the photograph, to help the subjects remember what it felt like in this moment. I was pretty close! And yes. I may have gotten bumped. But dang! Look at those smiles! Look at that joy!

Get close.

It’s so worth it!

Love does,

Kristin
