the one with Arlene's 80th Birthday Party @ the Kessel Building in Slaton Texas

I first moved to Slaton and got a job at a little store. It was the summertime and I needed a job. I was newly engaged to Devin, AKA BULL, and I had a job in the fall teaching, but I needed a job now to pay the rent and bills. Arlene was my workmate and we became fast friends.

I still live in Slaton and still attend church with Arlene at St. Joseph. She is golden! She recently turned 80 and her family hosted a party in Slaton at the Kessel Building. I’ve photographed here before. When Chad and Jessica got married, they hosted their reception here.

Slaton is the little town that just doesn’t quit! And it’s people don’t either. I’m proud to live there, work there and know the souls there.
