the one where Breanna + Justin get married at Kitalou Gin
I had the pleasure of photographing Bree’s wedding. She was a classmate of Summer, my youngest, at LCHS and they even cheered together, back in the day. I’ll see if I can find a picture of them together. HELLO! They were soooo cute! They still are! But if I find one, I’ll share it on Instagram in honor of me FINALLY BLOGGING HER WEDDING!
Okay, here’s the details. This is something I really want to implement for 2020 more. Share the DETAILS! I’ll try to include my thoughts and maybe their contact info. Either Facebook or Instagram.
loved working with this guy! His energy was great and we just bounced off each other in a good way. Not the “I wanna fight you” you.
It was total yum. Just scroll down and see for yourself. I ate my entire piece. It doesn’t always happen. Sometimes it the frosting I love, other times, the cake flavor. Many times they are gorgeous but taste so-so. This one? LOVED.
hair: Sierra Contreres / Sarah Reese
She’s amazing! We are so blessed here in Lubbock to have some serious crazy talented people in the biz. This girl? Kirby? She’s one of them.
as always, a lovely, lovely place to be. xoxo
music: Jr Vasquez/ Joe Gutieres
Okay, so I haven’t bought a wedding dress in YEARS. Let’s try 29 to be exact. I think…remember, I don’t do. math.
On to the pretty pictures! Be sure and scroll down to the very bottom. I asked Bree a few questions about her day.
Love Does,
Kristin
She’s the cutest! And most thoughtful. She honestly thought of everyone and gave them gifts at some point that weekend. And hand wrote them notes. I didn’t read them, but golly, she sure made a lot of people cry!
Bree, you are well loved by many. Just look at the love in this image above!
The details at this wedding were AMAZEBALLS! Well done, Miss Kirby!
I’ve photographed many, many wedding with this pretty momma above. Even her own wedding which included one of my favorite daddy + daughter dance images, thank you. (another image to share with you guys…) I teased Baylee this day about paying her because she’s such a great bridesmaid! She should hire herself out, and her sweet baby girl.
smooth lips are so necessary for the BIG DAY. don’t you think?
Bree’s dad sported this shirt for part of the day. #priceless
this sweet flower girl is the definition of “wearing your heart on your sleeve”. She’s my spirit animal because you know exactly how’s she’s feeling at any given moment. Such a cutie and so much energy! She loved watching the girls get ready!
Kitalou’s bridal suite is not connected to the gin. So, you have these amazing windows on the front that everyone loves to peep in, plus they are awesome for natural light which is so necssary for makeup application. RIght?
Bree, you are gorgeous! Cheekbones, attitude those smooth lips…
those eyes…
not to mention she has a pretty kick-butt group of girl friends. They enjoyed the day and we super kind of fun to spend time with. HELLO! #girlsquad
hello pretty dress.
I’m always amazed at all the detail on these things. Like seriously…who does all this bead work? Is it by hand? Or is there some machine? Something to google on my next insomnia break.
“I’ve got beers!” Everyone smile!
once again…KIRBY.
It’s time to get dressed.
insert BIG heart emoticon here.
Bee opted for a first look with her Daddy.
It was a good choice.
time to show the girls…the back of her dress has so much gorgeous detail, I told her she should walk down the aisle backwards. Or at least show the girls. LOL
they approve!
and then another bride showed up and tried to steal her thunder! What the heck! She was ever gracious and may have even purchased his gown. After all, he loves the groom as well. And because he can’t marry him, he thought they could trick him. So…
So, Justin thought he was going to see Bree.
instead…
he took it like a champ. His first would have to wait for the ceremony.
last minute adjustments.
let’s do this!
Justin’s momma had a long aisle to walk down. I’m so happy he escorted her. His dad passed away several years back and she needed Justin on her arm. Everyone felt the loss of him not being here on this day. Losing loved ones is so very hard.
but then this little guy showed up and stole the show! Good thing Bree was coming in after.
See? You know what she’s thinking.
this guy is like me. I love to watch the groom.
they both were taking this very seriously. As they should.
but then something always happens or is said to break the tension.
Kitalou definitely photographs very well. No. They do not have a balcony, but I always carry a monopod and raise my camera up with a timed release to get an over view of the day. LOVE this!!!
I think she loves him.
Her mommas are definitely enjoying the event. Don’t you think?
Listening to every word.
and when Bree recited her vows, the tears showed up everywhere! Heck, even me, I’m sure.
hang in there Katie.
one sweet kiss to seal the deal.
and a new family starts their life together. xoxo
Yes. I take family pictures either before the ceremony or after. But I also make sure I carve out 10-15 minutes to photograph just the couple. So, we did. And I love how all of these turned out! Plenty of pretty warm light and two people obviously in love! My kind of day!
See what I mean about the back of that gown?!?! YES!
Devin, my husband saw this shot and asked if they were part of the band. LOL . You guys are very welcome. I didn’t have the heart to tell him no. So, enjoy your shot at fame!
Here’s some of that good stuff my boyfriend, Kenney Chesney talks about. LOVE this shot of the two of them from their first dance!
and then there’s Daddy! Cutting a rug and taking names!
I know it’s not appropriate, but I simply wanted to go out there and hug and sway with these two and let them know we were all cheering for them and hugging them in our hearts. You know? Momma was feeling ALL the feels that day!
The famous bridesmaid Baylee and her sweet family. Her husband Jordan has been in front of my camera a few times. CLICK HERE
I was obsessed with her fur drape. OBSESSED! I even bought a knock off on Amazon for Christmas Eve and wore it to mass that night. LOVE this look!
All the guest sure enjoyed themselves!
Karsi was married earlier this year. Love this shot of her and her cousin? Or is he your nephew? Ugh…how are you two related again?
A funny toast by the best man/first look bride.
Here’s a shot of that yummy cake!
sweet cake kisses!
and then things turned up a notch or two.
He shaved.
HE SHAVED! I almost didn’t recognize Keaton when I saw him during the ceremony. I photographed their wedding earlier this year as well. Love you two! (confession…I always spell Lindsay’s name wrong. ALL THE TIME. I apologize now, Lindsay.)
She wanted this bouquet so bad…
she took this kid out on the right of the frame. My pictures are being held for insurance purposes. I tease. But seriously. There was some hustle on that toss!
these two were enjoying a conversation or two.
so you think you can dance, huh?
this is the seed barn at Kitalou. It’s makes for great photos during a dance. I LOVE this place and this shot!
now that the stress of the toasts are over, GET IT KATIE!!!
Party’s over and it’s time to head home! We sent them off with fireworks and a cool vintage car, thank you Daddy, and don’t forget…a kiss!
final thoughts
what do you remember most about your day? The “first” look with my groom. Or so he thought! I borrowed one of my friends grandmothers wedding dress to surprise my groom with his best man as his “bride” on our first look. The first look with my dad was another one of my favorites. My dad is such an important person to me. To be able to share that moment with him is something words cannot describe. I will cherish that forever.
I will as well, Bree! I loved all your moments with your loved ones. You did such a lovely job of making them feel so wanted and special.
Your ceremony in three words. emotional, spiritual, beautiful
agreed
music. We actually had both. I wanted my guest to get the “live” band vibe, so we had Jr Vasquez play for our ceremony & cocktail hour & a DJ for our reception to play all fun music to get the party going!
Any advice for future b + g's? Do what YOU want. Don’t worry about other people & what they will feel or think. The day is about you & you should feel nothing less than the most important thing that day! Enjoy the time you have because it goes by faster than you can ever imagine!
BRAVO! It’s so true! Good words of advice.
If you could do it all again, anything you would change? I wish I would have taken the time to really enjoy the moments I had. Instead of worrying about the little things going on around me, I would have enjoyed spending time with my mom & stepmom & all of my girls.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Y E S. We went to an all inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico. SO AMAZING. It was the first time I had ever been out of the country & the first time I had ever flown in a plane (crazy right?) it was so relaxing & so peaceful. we can’t wait to go back!!!!
I hope you get to go there and many other places just the two of you! May you always smile each day with each other and always make each other laugh. You guys are off to a GREA start!!!
Love does,
Kristin
