the one with my favs from each wedding in 2016

I've always wanted to do this.  Do a "Year End" post of all my favorite images from every wedding, bridal, engagement, or session I've photographed in the past year.   No easy feat, mind you!  It's so hard to choose just one favorite.  It seriously is!  And I would choose just one. ONE SINGLE IMAGE FROM EACH SESSION AND WEDDING. Hello! Just thinking about that, makes me weak in the knees.  I would start the process, going through my hard drives, pulling images into my computer and laughing and loving along with the moments all over again.  I would pull an image, and then walk away, grab a drink and when I sat back down, totally change my mind.  GEEZ!   It's feelings man, and hormones...and drinking that get in the way.  

So two.  Let's try choosing two.  And I did. That made it a bit easier.  I'm WARNING YOU NOW...HUGE AMOUNTS OF PHOTOS WILL FOLLOW.  

A few things to note.  I apparently am drawn to black and white images.  Which is funny, because I only edit maybe 20% black and white.  But something about bw just draws me in.  Maybe because it shows emotion more then anything.  Where color, brings itself into play as part of the story.  And me being an emotional girl, well, I'm a sucker for a good black and white still image.

I also noticed when pulling files for this post, I'm drawn to laughter, smiles, and joyful moments.  Sure, there's a few serious ones mixed in as well, but for the most part, I like the happiness in life.

She had just received her gift from Michale while she was in the bridal suite getting ready.  Make-up was flawless before...

so much JOY in their first dance!  I loved that about these two.  They danced and danced and just talked throughout the music.  It's still an image I love and I look at it almost every day.

After the ceremony on the courthouse lawn, the gazebo actually, these two took an elevator ride upstairs to pick up the paperwork.  The expression on Jeff's face was just AWESOME!  So many emotions go through your head on your wedding day.

They had arranged to have cake together in a hotel suite after the ceremony.  Spontaneous moments like this make my job so much fun and hard at the same time.  You have to be ready!

I don't think I've ever seen the Frazier as beautiful as it was for their wedding reception!  I couldn't get the images out of my head that night when i returned home.  I had to choose and image that portrayed just how gorgeous it was!  This was Emily's dance with her dad.

This couple had so much style all wrapped up into a simply, classic package...I was IN LOVE! I mean, just look at that cake!  HELLO!  Such a wonderful moment between these two as they accomplish one of the first tasks as husband and wife.

'dem boys!  I hesitated to share a posed image here as a favorite, but these guys had so much energy and were just so much fun to be around, I couldn't resist!

Michael and Sarah had a first look, yet that didn't take away from any of the emotion Michael felt as Sarah came down the aisle.  A guy that tears up and cries at his wedding?  TOTAL STUD.

She's a daddy's girl!  I'm telling you!  Rough and tough, and drop dead beautiful!  And they made me cry like a baby when they danced together.

my Marfa wedding.  These two stole my heart and Marfa pretty much kept it.  We were all at the top of the courthouse overlooking the city  for their ceremony.  No music.  Just family, me and a judge.  SO MUCH EMOTION and LOVE and LAUGHTER!

this room is the ONLY place we could do a first look.  Another wedding was going on before this one so we were limited on space and places.  This is the activity center of the church and it was HOT and stuffy.  They each brought letters to give to each other that they read before the glanced around the divider.  LOVE!
