The one with Easter 2016
We're missing Kalyn Marie this year. She's "adulting" this year in Austin. New jobs and responsibility. This is two Easters in a row! I'm not liking this part of "empty nest" one bit. Where can I file a complaint?
We went to mass at St. Joseph and then lunch at the country club. Hello! This is quickly becoming a family favorite. We've done this for several years now. So yummy! And it helps with college kids heading back to school on Sunday. We of course ate way too much.
And let's talk for a minute about the dessert table. I couldn't take a picture as that would be "not nice" but, it looked like a preschooler had gone through there served their self. I mean things were hacked to pieces! It was like none of us had ever cut a pice of pie before. Lol. They need to offer classes next time to help some of us out, i guess. And the situation was made worse by the fact that you walk in and there it is. First thing you see. Hatched up cakes, pies and cobblers. Sugar spilling everywhere! But please understand me when I say, I ATE the stuff REGARDLESS. REGARDLESS.
Because the country club has a dress code, the men must wear jackets. Jack borrowed one from Chief. But the tie? The tie was all his. He can even tell you which occasion the tie was purchased for. It involves a girl. In fact, most of Jack's dress up moments involve girls. 😏 Smart guy. #sharpdressedmanI realize it's just the opinion of your aunt, but hey, looking pretty fly, mister. Pretty fly.
I hear some Behnke's are throwing an Easter Party. May have to crash that puppy later today. So, stay tuned for blog post #2. LOL
Happy Easter!
I'm back!!!!
Later that night, after Devin finished his work, or some of it because do we ever really finish? We went to the Behnke's Annual Easter Gathering. Last year was our first year to attend and it's such a fun bunch and great place to gather, we couldn't not go again. I hope it's something we can always be a part of if we are around.
The gathering takes place at Pappa Behnke's homestead and everyone comes bringing food and instruments. They play and eat and visit and chill. My kind of gathering! We brought a cooler and a couple of chairs and just enjoyed ourselves.
Others enjoyed their selves as well.
The only sad part of the day? Missing Kalyn Marie. Sure we could chat on the phone and talk, but it's just not the same as a real hug. That goes for my family far away as well. I sure miss my family.
So, what did you do for Easter? It's important to get out from under the "everyday" and remember the sacrifice HE gave, His life and enjoy the presence of our loved ones. And especially not take for granted the ones we can spend time with.
Love Does,
Kristin
