the one with two of my favorite people
Dalton + Kate are two of my favorite people in the world. And not because I know them so well, it's nothing about that. Because I don't. Know them that well anymore. I only see them at family gatherings and those don't happen near enough. It's just that I will ALWAYS feel connected to them, like they are my own. I just feel connected. The 2nd I look into their eyes, I feel connected.
Their mom and I were related through marriage, but connected and clicked as friends. She married Garret, my old man's cousin. I instantly fell in love with her. She was witty. She was fun! She was completely open and full of energy! She was a bad ass, like me folks. And I ain't talking about cancer. I'm talking about trouble. She could hold her own with anyone in the world, sarcasm, joking, drinking, you name it! And she was completely and utterly FUN. What's not to love about that?
When she came into our Bednarz family, I found a compadre who understood what it was like to be married to a Bednarz Man. Folks, it ain't easy. (Bridgette, I know you know what I mean, if you are reading this. LOL) It comes with much responsibility loving these men and much work. They can be stubborn and pushy and just plain hard. But it can also be so rewarding! These guys come with MUCH PASSION. And because of that, we girls who marry in, we dig in and stay for the long haul.
Sadly, the long haul for Eli, Dalton and Kate's mom, didn't last near long enough. NEVER long enough when you leave behind small kids like these two. And I miss her so. Especially now in dealing with what I'm dealing with. She would definitely be meeting me for late night movies and discussing all the crap in the world and cracking jokes right and left. When the two of us got together, yes, trouble typically followed, but so much love and laughter did as well! I miss laughing like that! You know the kind, the belly laughs were snot and snorts would abound? Yeah. I didn't say we laugh cute. LOL
Dalton + Kate have wonderful people in their lives that love them and cherish them and have stepped in and helped their daddy out. Cindy is one. Thank you Cindy, for helping me photograph them yesterday, for curling Kate's hair so beautifully, and for loving them as your own.
They have grown TREMENDOUSLY and are such beautiful kids! I know, I'm completely biased, but they just are!
I edited these on my old iMac. My macbook pro needed a break and was backing up some wedding pictures to "the cloud" and I didn't want to wait. YES. I know patience is a virtue, but HELLO, I'm not that virtuous. Working on that. Enjoy the sneak peek!
Love does,
Kristin
lately. So there.
