Life has been very hard this week.
Just lots of basketball games, which I love and not much time in the office, which I love (and desperately need). I feel jumbled. Unorganized! I think it's because my house is dirty and Christmas is just around the corner. Either way, my brain relaxes when I watch the Lady Pirates play. And this week, they've been playing a lot! When you follow a team like I have, you get to know them. The way the play and move on the court. You get really good at photographing them. I enjoy this part of my life and it makes me sad to know I've only got 2 more years of it. I should have had more kids.
I'm not sure what was so funny with our managers, but I love it! The next two are so fun!
Adrain won't be playing with us today.
She's in FFA and has a competition where she wears black hose. She's such a speedy Gonzales on the court! Love!
Claire is back.
This is way cool.
I can't imagine how hard it must be for her to switch gears from Volleyball to Basketball. They are such different sports. She's doing really well and trying very hard. LOVE me some Claire!At 1/s time, some other teams came to warm up. One girl had these on her knees. I didn't know if they were knee pads or braces? So I photographed them. I still can't figure it out.
I have a video I will have to upload later. The girls are used to me photographing them on the bench while the play is at the other end. Sometimes, when we are ahead and winning, they become very camera aware. The nerves are gone and they feel better about they game, the play, themselves. Well, yesterday, I was videoing the game and they sat still for about 14 seconds thinking I was taking a picture. SO FUNNY! I'll see if I can get it to load later so we can all have a good laugh.
Summer is tough on herself. She beats her self up if she makes mistakes and needs to learn that she's human and will make them. That's how life is. You make mistakes. I thought she played very well. She had some great plays yesterday in her games and was a major asset for her team. I'm her mom and of course have to think that. But I would think that if I was just a bystander watching as well. She's good! Very good at this game she loves.I'm a bit sad thinking about how fast everything will go this year! I want it to last and last and last. LOVE these girls!!!And Summer? If you are reading this today, remember, it is JUST A GAME. And it too shall pass. So, YES. Try your hardest and give it your best. But when you make mistakes, remember you are NOT doing brain surgery and no one died. OK?
