I get a little sappy

I was putting up my meager decorations for Easter on my fireplace mantle. WOW. I have a mantle. First time in my life, I think. Yes. I'm pretty sure that's right. I have a mantle and after 3 years of living here have decided to decorate it per holiday. Now don't get excited. It ain't much. I think for Valentine's Day I even shared an Instagram photo of my FREE creation that sucked big donkey balls. But the point is, I'm trying. I'm trying to pull myself away from my computer and video store and trying to enjoy life. Trying to be a better mom. A better wife. A better friend. I'm failing miserably, but hey, I'm trying. Sometimes, when we fail, that's all we can do.

So, I'm digging for an Easter photo of the girls that I can frame and put in this cute adorable frame that Davida Zoe got me FOREVER ago and in digging I found a picture of Elizabeth and Bridgette. Or as our family affectionately calls them, Eli and Brisket. Gosh, we are horrible. I can explain that last one, but for now, I'm sappy.

You can pick up a picture you haven't seen in FOREVER and instantly FEEL. Instantly feel emotion. All kinds. And sure, you cry. Sometimes a lot and sometimes a little. But it's oh, so wonderful to have the picture. That's the moral of the story. Grab your photos and hold on with all your might.

I will add that I photographed this photo, as it was film from Easter 2001, and photographed it with my iPhone and ran it through the iPhone ap, Camera Awesome! by Smug Mug . Great ap, by the way. And now, even if this beautiful new house (and fireplace mantle) are destroyed in an act of God or Mother Nature, the photo is saved, archived and I can view it again and again.

If you'd like to view more photos of ELI, click here. Love you, Elizabeth! And Love you Bridgette!!!!
