And I must confess, I ADORE girl's basketball! It's everything I love about our gender.

So, when Levelland asked if I could shoot their team, my first instinct was to say no. After all, I'm a Cooper Pirate Fan. What would they think? Would I be allowed back in the Pirate Nation gym? But the photo bug in me jumped up to my mouth and screamed YES. HELLO! Beautiful girls!!! HELLO! Athletes!!! and HELLO! Maybe I could totally eavesdrop on their conversations about secret basketball plays or something. No? Did I just type that?

So Sunday I made the drive over to Levelland to photograph their team.

The girls were polite, gracious and fun to photograph. And I finally get to see them off the court, hair down and GLAMMED UP! LOVE that transformation we can make as STRONG POWERFUL BEAUTIFUL FEMALES.

They kept telling me it was a rebuilding year for their team. There's just one Senior in the bunch. But I think they are totally selling themselves a bit short. With no expectations on them, the pressure is off and they can "bring their game" and surprise everyone.

Good luck girls! And remember, when I'm photographing Cooper vs Levelland, so smile at me at least once during the game. Deal?
