Friday Night Lights, Perryton
Last night was FUN.
The weather was perfect for football. Moisture in the air. You could feel winter around the corner and YES, if you were cold, could wear a jacket and feel just fine. But if you didn't, long sleeves were fine as well. Me? I was in my trusty snip-snipped Pirate Sweatshirt. The "snip snip" is due because I cut off the hood. I always feel like they choke me.
I photographed the football game AFTER running from the Volleyball Game over at Lubbock High. You can read about that game, HERE.
Okay, so I didn't run, but my car booked it down I27 for sure. And FYI: I didn't leave the volleyball game until I was sure our girls were going to win. Way to go Lady Pirates!
Kalyn was up in the stands with a camera and a 50 while I stayed on the sidelines and shot with the 200 2.8. You'll see a ton of her shots in the gallery below. Fun to get a student's point of view. Now, me? I'm really loving that lens (the 200 2.8) for football. I know you have to be ready with the compositions and just honestly, do not have the freedom to mess around. But I will say, it's worth the struggle because of the sharpness. LOVE LOVE LOVE how sharp it is. Most of the football action shots were taken with that lens.
Last night the Pirates made us proud!!!!
They beat Perryton at home and are back on track for a winning season. (where's some wood I can knock on?) Of course they scared the poop out of me later in the 2nd half when they let them get within a touchdown of winning. HELLO! But I hey, they need to keep folks in the stands. So I'm sure they only did that for the drama effect? Right guys? Just to keep us on the edge of our seats? In high school football, it only takes one great play to shake things up. And both teams had several great plays last night.
Of course, they also had penalties. Personal fouls, illegal blocks, holding. You name it, it was called last night.
There's a TON of photos below in the gallery and even more on the Pirate Gallery. Just follow these instructions.
