Road trippin'
I brought my camera this trip, but so far, I've been enjoying the iPhone. It's got a great little camera!
Kalyn and I switched drivers at every pit stop. Works great! We ended up in Bryan, Texas late Tuesday night, but really picked a great hotel, the La Salle. I would highly recommend it. Great value at a great price and I loved being downtown instead of by the college.
Here's some pictures from the iPhone the first day.
These next few are from A+M.
More than impressed! I've met a few Aggies in my life and I've photographed several. Aggieland was good to us yesterday. Felt normal.
Whatever normal is.
Beautiful campus! Yes, it was crazy hot, but we loved the trees and all the pretty flowers. It even rained on us on our tour! LOL That made for some lovely humidity!
The traditions run deep here but the motto is simple. See it below. All graduates have the same ring. And the ring ceremony is almost more important than the actual graduation. It's a pretty big deal, I'm told.
Of course football is a great tradition here as well.
They stand the entire game. YES. We got to go on the field and do a yell. Our tour guide was AWESOME! She has a deep pride in her school and really makes you want to be a part of the group.
I'm not quite a pro with this little camera yet, but I did have fun!
Funny how they have Lubbock street on A+M campus!
We then enjoyed a tour of the architecture college on campus. They have VIZ department that only accepts 54 students per year and the competition is STIFF, but it was so cool watching some of the projects and touring the studio. Kalyn really enjoyed it. We may have found her major.
Then, before we left campus, we thought, hey, let's go see the basketball court!
So we did.
And then we saw the softball field, bought a t-shirt and headed to Austin.
Great day, all in all. We need to start our list of pros and cons. Next up is UT and then hopefully we can tour TCU and U of D in Dallas in August.
