Housey Stuff

Okay, this is a treat. Because you know I don't post much of my house. Hardly EVER. It's just not done in my head, so why show pictures? Kind of my theory as to why I don't let an image leave my computer unless edited. Slave to the craft, I suppose. But either way, I thought I would "treat" the blog today to some House Love.

Anyone here read, Young House Love?

I'm addicted. I read it every morning and I love watching them try things I never would be brave enough to try. All with a child under the age of 2. And the writing is pretty darn good, as well. So if you never venture to try one DIY thing, it's a great blog to read regardless.

So, here's an oreo cooking on my desk in my office. I shouldn't be eating Oreos.

This is the room to me, that is almost "done".

Except for the walls.

Maybe because it doesn't require furniture. You think? It's always hard for me to decide. Couch? Or table and chairs since the girls use it so much for homework.

So, I went to Office Depot and bought a bunch of those bland wooden clipboards and thought, this would be perfect for the walls in my office. I quickly get tired of images, and this is a great way to switch them out. Plus, when entertaining a bride, I can print out photos from her venue and swap them out for her enjoyment.

I primed and spray painted each clipboard and I love how it turned out!

I have some more photos that I need to print out.

You can still see the OFFICE DEPOT writing on the top, but hey, it is an office, after all.

Here's a shot of my messy bookcases and the finished wall.

I love my lights, but seriously need to re-arrange these bookcases. Any idea? Maybe I need to downsize the library? Collect more old cameras and keep adding them? Give up and just go for the messy look? What if I flip all the books, to the paper side and just display that way? I see that all the time in Garnet Hill and Sundance. No?

Here's my next wall/project. I have some very cool canvas from a friend there next to Miss Kanga and I'm thinking floating wall shelves to display more stuff. No?

I'm not big on stuff, so this is very hard for me.

This wall is seen from the great room so it has to be something pretty darn cool, yet attractive since it can be seen from the kitchen AND the living/dining area.

Now that I see it here, maybe one large vertical canvas? Or collage from our days at the beach so long ago?

Okay, that's all for now.

If you have any ideas of what I need to do, please leave a comment. I'd appreciate the help!
