a tough loss
The game started out so promising. Very promising. We were winning at the 1/2 point. But it was tough. The Kennedale girls are fast and furious and had the favor of the refs. No fouls were called on their street ball playing and our point guard, Brittney was in quick foul trouble. But honestly, I wasn't too worried. I thought for sure we'd be OK.
But then in the 3rd quarter, they came out strong and READY and on fire! Our girls made mistakes, got frazzled and it felt like everyone was just confused and terribly fearful.
We pulled it out a bit in the 4th Q, but it was just too much to deal with.
Cooper lost.
And my heart broke a little for our girls.
Here. Just let the photos do the talking.
I'm going to miss "pre-game" with Mosser. We'vs BS'd with the best of them all season long! Talked strategies and loved our Lady Pirates!Kalyn is always happy on the court. I love watching her announced and running out! How cute is she?We had the help of our student body! I just can't tell which ones these are? The UIL has rules against body paint. Here's a way around the rules. They sat behind Kennedale's bench and brought the NOISE, that's for sure! Even frazzled them on FT's and coaching. Well done, student body!
This is Coach Huges and his daughter, Jamika. She's a sophomore and very good. I look at this picture of Kalyn's face and want to cry. She was working so hard and trying so hard. Very tough moment for this momma.Heads down, left to right, Kaitlyn and Beka.
Coach had the chance to sub Summer in for Kalyn and instead chose Haley. I won't lie. I was disappointed. But I'm sure he had things on his mind. Like comforting his only senior and figuring out what he was going to say in the locker room. The job of a girl's BB coach is never easy.
Kaylee Cooper hit one FT and did well. Hard to play when your teammates hearts are breaking. The sad thing is, after watching this game? We are the better team. We truly are. We just weren't in the 3rd quarter.
The picture below is of Kalyn looking back before heading in to the locker room. She was the last one to leave. She usually is. Her sister was with her.
We have one senior, Kaitlyn Vinson. She's been a tremendous team leader and wonderful example for our Juniors on how to lead a team. We are so very sorry we couldn't get her to state. I know she'll be OK, but gosh, it breaks hearts all the same. Here's a shot of her mom when Kaitlyn came out of the locker room.
And hugging Dad.
We had some good friends come out and support our team. Thank you Cody and Teresa!!!! They screamed at the refs right along with the rest of us and we love you dearly for it.
Until next year!
I love them Lady Pirates!
