I love these girls
I could watch girl's basketball almost all day. I really could. And the other 15 minutes of my day could be spent reading People magazine. It's my other guilty pleasure. This week the Caprock Tournament is in town and 94 teams and 1.7 million dollars later, today is the LAST DAY. Cooper has played well. The boys are playing in their division semi-final and the girls are playing in the CHAMPIONSHIP LOSERS bracket.
sigh
It was all Monterey's fault.
I've been photographing and I LOVE these girls! I've watched them grow and learn and jell as a team. I've gotten to know many of them on the court, for sure, as well as off.

And my favorite of all Varsity Pirates, Kalyn Marie. I love her most of all, of course. This week has been very hard on her. She came home from Monday's game against Monterey, violently ill. She was sick all day and did not sleep very well. Just sore and achy and we expected that to continue on Tuesday. She's played 4 games in 3 days and has played well considering she's had to really push herself through each step of the way. I'm so proud of the way she has handled herself during this and the way she has played. I was so scared and worried to let her play that 2nd day. Everything in my "momma bones" was yelling NO. But she insisted. And after speaking with a doctor and testing for strep, (negative) she did.
The team played very well and I'll share photos soon!
Just check out that defensive concentration on her photo below!!!
Well done, Miss Marie.
