the one where I made it to a football game, FINALLY!
Last night was sooooo much fun! I finally got to go and photograph a Lubbock-Cooper home football game! It never worked to fit into my schedule so far this year, so when I had Friday night free, I jumped on it! WOW! The new stadium is so nice! And the lights? YIPEE! PERFECT for shooting without flash. I was able to get f4 and great shutter speeds and iso's of only 800 or so. PERFECT I tell you!
Now the Monday before is when the Booster club meets and Devin won the door prize of 4 football tickets AND FREE parking. W were able to pull right up behind the stadium close and just walk a few feet to the elevators. YEP. Elevators. All the way to the top baby! We had great seats AND Pedro's tamale's to boot. Can you say YUM? We invited Hanna's mom and dad, Jeff and Celeste and I'm so glad we did. We had a great time! Next time? We'll be sure and take photos of the adults as well.
Now volleyball got very smart. Word was that concession stand lines were way too long and people didn't want to bother waiting. So, the volleyball girls walked the aisles in the stands and sold from crates. Some even got tips! They made lots of sales and the profits were going to support their Breast Cancer Drive in October. Woo Hoo!
Now I only took photos of the pre-game and the first 1/2. Unfortunately, we didn't win and I knew yearbook did not need losing photos, so I retired the camera and finished the game in our PRIMO seats at the top.
Hat's off to the building commitee and how they set that penthouse suite up! We felt very welcomed and just loved the view! We are sad to have watched the Pirates lose. You'll get 'em next time! (we hope)
Of course, more photos on the Cooper Pirate Gallery
