the one where Jenna + Ryan, get married at First United Methodist Church, Lubbock

I do this every weekend, almost. During the wedding season, April - October (and sometimes December), I photograph almost every weekend. And you would think I would get tired of it. But I don't. I seriously don't. And even though the elements of each, the main ones, are the same, you know, girl in white dress, a kiss, a piece of cake; they all feel completely different each and every time.

Here's a sneak peek of Jenna's little piece of "different".

Ceremony: First United Methodist Church, Lubbock

Reception: Lubbock Country Club

Dress: Pronovias, LuLu's Dallas

Hair: Nicole at Petra's, Lubbock

Makeup: Kellen at Bobbie Brown, Lubbock

Men's attire: Men's Wharehouse

Flowers: College Flowers

Band/DJ: Klif Notes

The always lovely, FUMC. I think the number one thing that makes this place so beautiful to have a wedding, the bells. I love hearing the bells as we are photographing in and around the building. Just such a way to set a celebration!  I followed the guys around the Lubbock Country Club for a bit of golf early that morning. It's a great time to relax and check out face angels, who's a blinker, who can actually hit a ball. LOL And then I met back up with Jenna and her girls at the church.  You know, for the "getting ready".

The hair was kept simple and lovely, just like Jenna.  It's just the way she is!  I try photographing rings before all the chaos begins.  Sometimes they aren't together, sometimes they are.  I do LOVE photographing engagement rings! I'm seriously thinking of putting a gallery on my website, just devoted to rings. Wait. I love cake too, so maybe rings and cake.  We'll see.

Jenna's girls were the BEST bridesmaids ever! I know I say that a lot, I truly do.  But these girls just kept the pace moving and fun and were always laughing. They even did a cheer for Jenna involving body parts spelling out her name. Oh, yeah. THE BEST.

Buttons on dresses are ALWAYS fun, and Jenna's had a few!  I love photographing all of mom's faces as she's hooking Jenna in her gorgeous gown!

I was warned ahead of time that Ryan HATES photos. HATES. But you can't tell it in our photos together.  I think he was just super excited to be getting married.

The girls were GORGEOUS! I LOVED the blue color and how fresh and pretty everything looked. And despite the heat, we had to go outside. FUMC has great bone structure and plenty of cool places to achieve different looks for your wedding album.  How can you not shoot the outside of this church?!?!  HELLO!  Special thanks to the girls for working it like ANTM's. We also walked across the street to photograph at the bus stop.  I'm in love with the narrow brick.  It's no longer the bus stop, but it's close to FUMC and makes for great conversations with homeless people that yell at you. Always fun in downtown Lubbock!

The ringbearers were the groom's nephews and I swear one looked just like that kid on the CHRISTMAS STORY.  No? Do you see it?  Ralphie, wasn't that his name?  And his brother was pretty darn cute as well.

The ceremony was lovely.  When you photograph at this church you have to stay in the back or up in the balcony.  I hate that as there's so many emotional moments that are missed.  But I stay with the rules.  For now.  I keep having crazy visions in my head where I go all rogue and move anyway, past the back row.  But not this wedding.  No.  I stayed put.

After the wedding, we made time for some beautiful portraits and then made our way to the reception.  It was AWESOME!  They Lubbock Country Club was decked out like CRAZY!  The flowers were gorgeous, the lighting was phenomenal and I loved loved loved all the dancing!!!  They couple exited to a wave of bubbles and we all made our way home thinking about the sweet cake and amazing night!  Just a great, great wedding!

Love does,
Kristin
