Questions?

How do we do this, money wise?

Payments can be made as you go to help with the costs of starting a family.  $500 is required to start your Baby Plan.  Of course this is applied to your total amount owed.  From there you can make payments as you see me, or monthly.  I take checks or credit cards for payment, or sometimes trips and diamonds.  Your choice.

What if I want to order more than just one 5×7 from each session?

No problem.  You can do so at your online gallery.  Just click away and order.  The gallery from each session will remain active for 14 days and all reprints and enlargements will be paid for as you go.   After the last session, all of your images will be online for your album choices.  The 5×7′s included in your session are FREE and you can just share with me your favorite and I’ll print and ship straight to you.  I love the idea of framing all 5×7′s together and displaying in your nursery!  Too cute!  Of course share the gallery with all your family and friends and they can order easily without you having to handle everything.

What if I want to handle everything?

All image files are archived and protected and available for purchase after your album is delivered.

Tell me more about this album.  How does the process work?

The album is a great heirloom!  Simply choose your favorites from each session and I will design akick-butt, adorable album that will make everyone cry and sigh the minute they hold it in their hands.  It will feature 45 photos displayed in order as Baby’s First Year.  We’ll start with the newborn and finish with the birthday cake!  You choose the images, I design, you approve and it will be printed and delivered.  With the delivery of the album, the digital files will be available for purchase if needed.  I realize how important it is for you to archive your family history.

I would really like photos of my belly!  Can I use one of the sessions for that?

Sure!   After all, your belly IS your baby!  You choose when we photograph, not me.  If you would like to add additional sessions, such as the belly and birth sessions, no problem.  Additional sessions are just $250 and will be included in your online gallery.  Of course the images can be added to your Baby’s First Year Album.  I think it’s a great idea to add what you want that you feel best documents YOUR baby.  Think about adding the 1st Birthday Party, too!  That way you can enjoy celebrating that baby instead of stressing about documenting it.

Where do I sign up for this?

Shoot me an email and we’ll start discussing your due date and ideas you have in mind for your family.  People ask me all the time what my favorite thing to shoot is, I always say, babies and brides!  And it’s so true.  They satisfy the urging in my belly to have more kids, when I know that’s just not possible.  And they are so sweet and the emotions and growth they bring to all God’s creatures is just too cool for school!

Is it just baby?  Or can my entire family be photographed?

It’s Baby’s First Year, but of course, baby has a family and it’s important to document that as well.  I’ll take a few quick family  portraits to document this time in your baby’s life.  However, if you are needing portraits of each child in your family, you will need to book a family session.  Baby’s First Year will not include individual portraits of everyone, just baby.  I hope that helps.

The newborn session scares me.  I don’t want to take my baby out and away from home.

I typically LOVE coming to the client’s home.  I want to see your nursery.  I want to be there when you feed this cute little bundle, where you guys hang out and love on each other.  Sure, I can use my home studio, but even better, let’s document your space.  Don’t worry about the mess.   About the eclectic furniture.  Years from now you’ll love looking back on this time and how much everything’s changed, including your home!  That’s a huge part of lifestyle photography.  Documenting YOUR lifestyle.  Not mine.

I saw this awesome photo of a baby in a tree.  Can you do that?

Is your husband a logger?  Do you grow fruit in your backyard and run a farmer’s market?  If you do and it’s part of your lifestyle, I’ll photograph it.  But recently there’s a huge trend in photography of setting up contrived situations just for kicks.  And I sometimes wonder what we will think years from now when we look back at these images and wonder why they hell my mom let me drape in silky fabric from a tree limb with my baby parts exposed and drool dripping.  HELLO!   I just don’t get it.  I’ll photograph it, if it’s dear to your heart, but I’d much prefer documenting your lives and how they relate together.  If your husband is a fireman, YES.  Let’s wrap that baby in his gear.  If he loves to hunt, put him on those antlers.  Make it mean something instead of just doing it because you think it looks good.  To me photography is about being REAL.  And that baby is REAL, not a prop.

stepping off soap box

So, all the sessions take place in our home?

We’ll start there.  But we may not stay there.  I’ll try to document the time of year as well.   So, if it’s spring time and baby is healthy and the weather permits, we’ll definitely go outside and enjoy some good vitamin D.  And if there’s a place other than home, that you spend a ton of time, such as a park swing, or an afternoon walk or neighbor’s stoop, we’ll go there as well.

Any thing else?  Just shoot me an email.
