3 Days of editing and the Cooper Prom Gallery is LIVE and ready for viewing and ordering!!!

This is my 2nd year of shooting this gig and I LOVE it!  The kids were so much fun!  And after seeing how I did things last year, they were ready for it!!!  They worked it like pros!!!  I prompted a few, but for the most part, they came up with ideas totally on their own.  Such a fun way to document prom!  I love the white backdrop because it doesn’t compete with their attire and works with everything.

It’s digital files ONLY.  They are $10 each and you only need to order the quantity of 1 with each pose.  You will receive a “print release” along with the files you order in a zip file that will be emailed to you.

Anyway, we were at the salon until 5:18 and had to be at Boo’s house for pictures by 6 PM.  Yeah, not much time for makeup and getting dressed (hello Justin Bieber purple…what else?!!?) and of course we were the last one to arrive.  But hey, they did have a professional light chaser shooting them, so HELLO!  No worries there.

I’m not sure if Kalyn has ever penned a boutonniere one before.  And Grant’s was definitely different.  I knew a flower would not hold up on this fella at all.  So I had Kelley, work a little something up.  It turned out GREAT!  And would last through hugs, dancing, and head banging.  So Grant was good to go.

The girls looked AMAZING and they guys?  Total studs.

Pretty Bailee getting help from her momma.  Casey was CRACKING me up!  We then spent a few minutes outside to photograph couples, dresses, and mayhem.  With these guys, there’s always mayhem.  LOL

Brooke, my niece was in town for the weekend and helped us get ready.  Jack and Summer were home helping me with stuff that so needed to be done.  Prom Party after party is at my house!

I can’t remember what was said.  But, I had said something about studs and then some dad told Grant that he better get out of the shot then.  I’m thinking it may have been his dad?  No? Or maybe his cousin?  HELLO!  This was the image taken after the remark.  Cute!

I ADORE this one below!!!!  Prom is such an exciting time and the guys like to act like it’s not but it’s such a rite of passage.  A guy and a girl, dancing, one of your last social events for high school.  It’s hard to be serious for the photographer apparently.  LOVE IT!

They are just so much fun!We had to get the bunch together.  Great group of kids for sure!

Oh, Dakota.  YOU SLAY ME.  LOL  I swear this kid will have his own TV show someday and I’ll pull out all my old photos to sale to the National Inquirer.  LOL  Bailee, how you like your Prom Date?

Kalyn and the Lady Pirates played Andrews in Game ONE last night and my friend Toni went over and photographed the game for me.  (thank you, Toni)

Summer was confirmed last night, reason why I couldn’t attend the game.  And we had a wonderful time with family.  Just glad those Lady Pirates won!!!

We are in the home stretch of school, only a few more weeks and we are in the home stretch of softball. These girls wanna go ALL THE WAY!  Last night we played the Seminole Maidens in Seminole, game 1 of a 3 game playoff series.  We play again today at 3 PM.  Those Maidens?  Now those girls are cheerleaders.  HELLO!  They screamed for an entire game!  I’m thinking today?  Maybe not so much because many of them won’t have their dang voices!   I can hope, no?

I’m a mom and I love my kid dearly, my beautiful Kalyn Marie.  But I also love the others on the team.  They are such great kids.  They really are!  I’m not just saying that because its “Cooper” and my kid’s team.  I’ve spent many minutes, hours, innings with these girls in the dugout, they’ve been to my house, hallways at school, facebook, etc.  And they are just good kids.  Beautiful girls!   I enjoy their personalities, their strengths, their quirks.   I’m always praying for them and concerned about them as a team.

I try and get my head in the Bible once a day and sometimes I fail miserably, sometimes?  With a hot cup of coffee, I go to the Word.  Here’s a little something “food for thought” I found this morning.  I thought it was awesome for my Lady Pirates.

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, …

We seriously can kick some butt at softball.  And my kid is part of that.

I love this game!

But I have to remember that Christ doesn’t really care about the game of softball, meaning who wins and all that.  He cares about the spirit and the heart of those playing.  After all, he created those members of that team.  Both teams.  And He loves them.  So just like a parent, he hurts when they hurt.  He’s filled with compassion.  And he’s THRILLED when they are happy!

And I’m pretty darn happy today.

Here’s some game photos!  Remember when we played pee-wee sports and made a tunnel for our kids to run through?  Total cheerleaders and we so didn’t care if we looked cool?  Oh, yeah, WE DID THAT!  Thank you, Kayla.  LOL

I met Ali through her cousin, Terri.  Terri has cute kids and is married to a man my husband grew up with.  Small world when you are growing old.

My point is I love families.  The good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful.  ALL of it makes us who we are.  All of it, weaves it’s threads in our hearts, souls and minds.  We can’t help ourselves by being connected.   We can listen to our own spirit inside, that voice, and follow it and love it and share it with others.  It’s how the world goes around.

Terri tagged along with us last night, loaned us shoes, helped fix hair and most of all, cheered us on.  Me and Ali.

Ali is beautiful.  And amazing at posing and standing and moving and laughing.

A session isn’t quite the same without the undeniably name-like Annie Grace.  PERFECTION every time.

We had a fabulous night last night!

It was Lubbock Cooper Award’s Ceremony for 2012.  With Kalyn being a Senior, it was the start of all the end of year activities.  Much of these activities might be interrupted by softball playoff games, and you know what?  We are OK with that.

Congratulations to all the award recipients last night!  Super proud of these peeps!

Okay, ALERT ALERT!

This was so funny!  Can you see Mr. Spears in the background?  He was introducing our exchange students and this girl here, from Italy I believe?  She was asked to share a favorite memory.  I’ll try and paraphrase as I was LMBO and could hardly catch my breath to remember exactly how she said this.

BUT

During her first few weeks of school here she was in English class working on an assignment and asked for another male student for a rubber.  Which means eraser back home, but here in the states?  CONDOM.  She told this story so bluntly and matter of fact and with perfect comedic timing I might add, that we all just CRACKED UP.

Obviously!  From the looks of the peeps in the next photo where she’s receiving her letterman’s jacket.

LOVED this moment!  And this girl would make a most excellent dinner date.

Kalyn wowed all the family on our row by taking #1 of her class!  HELLO!  We had no idea.  I don’t think she did either.  Great moment and I have to say I yelled a bit from my seat.  Yep.  I did.

HELLO!  Super proud as this has been one tough year.

She letters and plays in 2 sports that consume much of her days from October – June.  She has practice and has managed to hold on to a top GPA all 4 years of school.

I’m one proud momma!

And these three beauties?

Best of friends.  I love these girls!  The support each other, they help each other.  They compete, yes, but to be the best they can be. NOT better than their friend.

The Kelcey Vines Memorial Scholarship is always a bittersweet moment.  Natalie Kitten and Danielle Schwertner were the recipients this year.  Way to go Girls!!!!

Casey Owens and Brittney Bednarz are Mr. and Miss Lubbock Cooper High School.

And one of my favorite parts of the awards night is seeing all the cute outfits and shoes.  HELLO!  It’s like a fashion show.  And my girls?  They did not dissapoint!  Thank you, Grandma for helping this busy momma out and taking my babies shopping.  The looked FABULOUS!  And Kalyn only had 20 minutes tops to even get ready coming from a  a sweaty, dirty softball practice.

Eric on the left, he’s headed to UT as well!  LOVE these three.  Rebekah and Kalyn go WAY back.  They’ve been friends a long time and I’m so proud of Rebekah following her dream! The girl is headed to CO to study culinary skills and business.  BRAVO!

So dang proud of these girls!

Oh, and I can’t forget Mr. Enloe.  HELLO!  3rd time CHAMP!  He was voted BEST TEACHER for the 3rd year STRAIGHT!  He’s been a super great support of my two girls and our sports loving family just loves him!  I still owe you a steak dinner.  We have to get together soon.

A great night!  Lots of accomplishments!  So proud of my girls!   Devin and I are super blessed with these two.  I’d like to say they get it from me, but seriously?  I was never this smart.  Ask them.  They definitely do not come to me for homework help.  LOL

And special thanks to Lubbock Cooper High School faculty and staff.  You’ve helped mold my beauties!  Most of you have been completely supportive and wonderful to my girls!!!

Tall and lanky, he’s quite limber and can run on his knees on tile.

He likes to jump out of airplanes.
