Lady Pirates play Frenship Tigers

I’m rusty. You sort of remember where to stand where to be.  And then you leave something in the car.  Make a couple of trips back and forth and by the time you figure it out?  You have so much dust up your nose and the chills from a forgotten jacket, that you throw in...

I’m still depressed, but Idalou helps.

I’m in a funk. I’ve been chained to my computer between video, laundry and food. The jobs of a mom are endless.  Somedays all I want to do is sit with a cup of coffee and do nothing. But that’s not an option. So plug ahead. And I did. Mainly because of a little treat...

Jessica + Coby, an engagement

I met Jessica before Coby.  I usually do as brides have the task of choosing a photographer.  When I did get to see Coby, I instantly liked him.  First, because of that shaved head!  HELLO!  I have a thing for Vin Diesel so this feeds that thing.  Uh, uh. But it was more than that....

Oscar!

Every year I go NUTS for the Oscars. We used to do a contest at our video store for free movies if you guessed the Oscar winners.  We don’t do it anymore, but I still LOVE the Oscars!  It’s the dresses, the stars, their dates, EVERYTHING!  And then throw in the movies and I’m sold....

HALLELUJAH! I’m so glad to hear someone else say that Brad leaving JENNIFER ANISTON for Angelina Jolie was the dumbest.move.ever. Angelina is a beautiful woman, but needs to come eat a burger with me a few times a week.

pirate breathing trouble

It’s a sad morning for the Cooper Pirates. Our boys lost. Our girls lost. And Kalyn?  Kalyn scared her mom TO DEATH.  HELLO!  The girls couldn’t breathe and instead of photographing like I normally do, I’m watching her like a hawk to make sure she doesn’t pass out. You see, she’s been sick this week....

What a night…..sorry it was so long for you all after the game. Hope she feels much better today. What athletes these girls are! Proud of them. Again these are great pics. Half the time they make me cry….cry for thanks for the gift you bring to me and all of us…..cry from laughing so hard…bahaha……cry because it is over….:(. Now I know Bridget has 1 more great year ahead of her, but she has played with these seniors for 3 years….great group of girls. Oh what a day today is……thanks for the memories!!!!!

Glad your girl is on the mend. Stunning photos! Could you please share lens, settings, etc? Basketball is so hard with the lighting and fast action.

Dawn, she does feel much better, but it’s just scary to her because she’s never had that happen before. And with softball around the corner, she doesn’t want that pain again. You know? I’m pretty sure it’s just the sickness + emotion + exertion. But we are following up next week to be sure. It was a sad day to be a Pirate for sure, but nothing can take away their memories and spirit. And Bridget will have an AMAZING BEAST of a year next year and I’ll be right there to photograph it! LOVE YOU!

hanks, Nichelle. Sports photography is INSANE! Understand that these photos you replied to were taken at the United Spirited Arena. Beautiful venue that makes shooting a breeze. Most gyms do not have great lighting. For basketball, I primarily shoot with the 70-200 2.8 and manually expose making sure my shutters are fast enough to freeze the action. It changes per venue and per game. Other great lenses under the goal are the 50 or 35. For the corners, the 135 or 100 works great.

I try to keep moving. Stay 2 minutes here, 2 minutes there to get all the players. Some games, successful. Others? eh…

Thanks for looking!
